FWPD Chief Steps Down, New Chief Sworn in Thursday

There’s been a change of leadership in the Fort Wayne Police Department. Scott Caudill stepped down as police chief yesterday and P.J. Smith was sworn in by Mayor Sharon Tucker yesterday. Both changes were effective immediately and the city did not give a reason for Caudill’s departure. Smith has been with the FWPD since 1983 and has held a variety of ranks.
