Fort Wayne Zoo to Open for the Season on Apr. 24

The Fort Wayne Zoo’s opening day is exactly one week away. The zoo’s opening day festivities will start at 9 a.m. next Friday in the Entrance Plaza. The zoo will be open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. through October 31st. There will be a variety of new animals and activities throughout this season, including:

• Raya, the baby Sumatran orangutan,
• Several hatchlings in the Indonesian Rainforest dome.
• Matilda the red-tailed hawk's new home just down the path from the Indiana Family Farm.
• Bubba the harbor seal.
• A new male wildebeast
• A new California sea lion
• A new Zebra
• Fun Fridays, which run from June 12th to August 28th
• A new electric train
• Glo Wild
