Fort Wayne Trash Fines on the Rise

Residents in Fort Wayne could face higher fines for violating the city's trash ordinance.  People are required to move their trash carts away from the curb between weekly collections. The carts can be stored at the side of the house at least 10 feet away from the front of the house. Officials say it is common for some residents to leave the trash carts out continuously and leave scattered debris or items not accepted by trash collectors on the curb.  The new fines will be $50 for each violation of not moving the carts off the curb and $100 for leaving trash items on the curb.
