Fort Wayne Opens "Golden Spike" Section of Pufferbelly Trail

The Golden Spike section of the Pufferbelly Trail in Fort Wayne is now open. The 1.7-mile portion of the trail connects Washington Center Road to Ice Way, and features multiple amenities. It also provides connectivity to nearly 700 businesses, stores, and restaurants. As part of the Golden Spike section, the previously announced Vann Family Crossing pedestrian bridge will cross Coliseum Boulevard. The bridge is expected to be constructed in 2026 and 2027 pending all necessary approvals.
