Fort Wayne City Utilities Reviewing, Contesting Proposed Sewer Rate Increases from Aqua Indiana

Fort Wayne City Utilities is challenging a more than 30% increase in sewer rates that Pennsylvania-based Aqua Indiana has requested. Aqua Indiana provides sewer service to about 14,000 customers in southwest Fort Wayne and Allen County, and recently filed the request with the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission. City Utilities is intervening on behalf of the City of Fort Wayne, which is now able to formally participate in the case after the IURC granted a petition.
