Fort Wayne City Council Gives Initial Approval to Multiple Projects08/20/2026The Oxford Streetscape project in southeast Fort Wayne received initial approval by City Council on Tuesday. The nearly $3.5 million project includes redesigning the road and sidewalks on Oxford Street between Lafayette and Oliver streets. It’s expected to improve pedestrian and vehicle safety while making the corridor more attractive. Additionally, four neighborhood infrastructure projects in Fort Wayne totaling $4.9 million received committee session approval during Tuesday's meeting. That includes real estate acquisition for the Pufferbelly Trail Pedestrian Bridge over Coliseum Boulevard as well as concrete street repairs across the city. Final approval for each project is expected to happen at a future meeting.
