Ford Recalls 119,000 Vehicles Over Fire Risk

If you drive older models of a Ford Focus, Explorer, Escape, or Lincoln MKC, it could be under a recall over a fire risk. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said the engine block heater in the affected vehicles could crack and leak coolant, potentially causing a short circuit. The following vehicles are affected:

  • 2016-2018 Focus
  • 2019 and 2024 Explorer
  • 2013-2018 Focus
  • 2013-2019 Escape
  • 2015-2016 Lincoln MKC

The agency said you should not plug in your block heater, and dealers will fix the issue for free.
