Food Drive Exceeds Expectations

A food drive on area college campuses has exceeded expectations.  Community Harvest Food Bank’s 11th Annual U Can Crash Hunger event brought in more than 137,000 pounds of food to area families…organizers were hoping for 125,000 pounds.  Eight universities and colleges collected nonperishable items for the event.  Purdue Fort Wayne had the highest total of collected items at 43,785 pounds.  Ivy Tech came in second with 20,000 pounds at Monday’s final weigh in.
