Farmers Bag Toledo

Fresh produce, straight from the source.  That's the idea behind Farmers Bag Toledo, a new community-supported agriculture program connecting Toledo residents with locally grown fruits and vegetables from three Northwest Ohio farms. The 14-week program launched Aug. 7 and quickly sold out, highlighting growing interest in locally sourced food. Each week, participants can select items from a rotating selection of seasonal produce grown by farmers in the region. Organizers say they hope the program not only increases access to fresh produce, but also encourages more residents to shop locally and support area farmers long term.
