China, Russia Meet Amid Tensions with the West

During increasing East and West tensions, Chinese President Xi Jinping is planning to visit Russia for three days next week in an apparent show of support for Russia. China has refused to condemn Moscow’s actions and tried to project itself as neutral while condemning Western sanctions. The Kremlin also announced the visit, saying that it would take place “at the invitation of Vladimir Putin.”
