Braun Signs Casino Bill Because of Referendum Addition

Indiana Governor Mike Braun signed the bill that could potentially bring a casino to northeast Indiana. This past Friday, House Bill 1038 passed the House by a vote of 56-37, and, just over an hour that same day, the bill passed out of the Senate 34-16. With Braun’s signature, a $500 million development could eventually become a reality in either Allen, DeKalb or Steuben counties.  Braun said he would not have signed the legislation had it not included the referendum requirement.
