Better Sleep Month

05/07/2025

May is Better Sleep Month…and Lutheran Hospital sleep technicians are emphasizing the critical role quality sleep can have in your overall health and prevention of chronic disease. The CDC says that adults age 18 and over should aim for at least 7 hours of sleep per night. Some of their recommendations for better sleep include having a consistent sleep schedule, keeping your bedroom quiet, dark, and at a comfortable temperature and keep electronic devices such as TVs, computers, and smartphones out of the bedroom. Insufficient sleep is linked to increased risks of obesity, diabetes, heart disease, and depression.
