AUDIO: $1.75 Million READI 2.0 Given to Taylor University's Main Street Mile Initiative11/25/2024A generous grant of $1.75 million has been given to Taylor University’s Main Street Mile initiative by the Indiana Regional Economic Acceleration and Development Initiative. The grant will help address Grant County’s housing shortage by paving the way for new housing and infrastructure improvements in the town of Upland. Andrea Masvero is the executive director of 1846 Enterprises, a supporting organization of Taylor that oversees Main Street Mile, and she explains exactly how the READI 2.0 grant will be used… Masvero says work is already underway to secure the needed approvals and prepare construction documents for the neighborhood expansion. She expects excavation to begin in the spring with homesites available for reservation after the first of the year.
