Amazon Announces $15 Billion Investment for Data Centers in Northern Indiana

Plans have been announced by Amazon to invest $15 billion to build data centers in northern Indiana. Amazon said the data centers would support artificial intelligence and cloud computing technologies, creating 1,100 new high-skilled jobs. Amazon would pay fees to use existing powerlines in an energy agreement with NIPSCO while covering the costs of any new equipment to support the data center, saving customers $1 billion over 15 years.
