2025 Clean Toledo Recycling Events, Block-by-Block Neighborhood Cleanups, and Free Landfill Disposal Days

04/03/2025
Release from the City of Toledo:

TOLEDO, OH – The City of Toledo is pleased to announce the 2025 schedule of Clean Toledo Recycling Events, Block-by-Block Neighborhood Cleanups, and Free Landfill Disposal Days.

Clean Toledo Recycling Events

The annual recycling events are a joint effort of the City of Toledo's Divisions of Environmental Services and Urban Beautification, Keep Toledo Lucas County Beautiful, and Ohio EPA, made possible through the support of a number of vendors.

The schedule kicks off with Party for the Planet, held on April 26th at 2 Hippo Way from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. This is the perfect opportunity for residents to join in recycling efforts while celebrating sustainability and the environment. The full schedule of events is available on our website.

Residents are encouraged to bring a variety of acceptable items for recycling, including:

  • Tires: Up to 10 tires on or off the rim (no commercial tires) at a cost of $0.50 each.
  • Bulky items and refuse: Air conditioning units, refrigerators/freezers, and large appliances.
  • Cardboard, phone books, and newspapers
  • Document shredding and recycling
  • Electronic waste: TVs and CRT monitors.
  • Household hazardous waste
  • Paint and stains: Oil-based paints, stains, and latex paint.
  • Packing styrofoam: No plates, cups, or other food-grade containers.
  • Residential yard waste: Sticks, branches, leaves, and grass clippings.
  • Scrap metal
  • Clothing and household goods
  • Medical equipment: Accepted on April 26th and October 4th.

Block-by-Block Neighborhood Cleanups

For the second year, the division of Urban Beautification is tackling blight by canvassing neighborhoods to collect trash and debris—for free! Residents can place furniture, mattresses, TVs, computers, scrap wood, and yard waste at the curb for pickup on Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Upcoming cleanup dates:
  • April 19: BUMA / Junction
  • May 17: Starr
  • June 8: Heatherdowns / Southwyck
  • June 14: Polish Village
  • July 19: Willys Park
  • October 11: Old South End
A map of the locations is available on our website. Residents within the cleanup area will see street signs go up a few days in advance of the event. Be sure to review the list of prohibited items online as well.

Free Landfill Disposal Days

Four times per year, Toledo residents may bring a truck or trailer load of bulky solid waste items—including excess trash, furniture, carpeting, mattresses, wood waste, and scrap metal—to the Hoffman Road Landfill, 3962 Hoffman Rd, for free disposal.

Upcoming disposal dates:
  • Saturday, May 31
  • Saturday, July 5
  • Saturday, September 6
  • Saturday, November 29
