She and her older sibling were known for moving from farm to farm looking for piece jobs to fend for their lives. Her case was reported to the social welfare and they took her in because she was now a victim of child labor and also vulnerable to abuse as a girl child. Name: Bonface Chidzura Sex: Male Age: 4 Years Bonface was abandoned by his mother at the bus terminal in Mutoko. His mother was known to be a local sex worker, but it’s been a year now since she abandoned Bonface and her whereabouts are unknown. There are no known immediate relatives of Bonface or his mother. Name: Rumbidzai Chigora Sex: Female Age: 4 years Both Rumbidzai’s parents passed away in a tragic accident and she was left alone. Her known relatives brought to the social welfare claiming that they were not able to take care of her. Name: Maxwell Mandigo Sex: Male Age: 6 years Maxwell was a victim of child labor in the communal areas of Mutoko. Both his parents passed away due to HIV/AIDS. He was left in the custody of his uncle who pulled him out of school and made him work in the farms. Locals reported the case to the Chief, then brought him to the social welfare. Name: Chosen Mushure Sex: Male Age: 6 years Chosen is an orphan; both his parents passed away when he was 3 years old. He was left in the care of his aunt, a known local sex worker. It was reported to the social welfare several times that the child was being abused sexually. The social welfare launched an investigation and found the case to be true. He has since been rehabilitated by the Social welfare. Name: Bothwell Magunje Sex: Male Age: 5 years Both of his parents died of HIV/AIDS. He was brought to the social welfare office by the neighbors not much information is known about his immediate relatives. Name: Brain Dzosai Sex: Male Age: 3 years Brain was orphaned together with his 6 other siblings. They were left alone in the rural areas of Mutoko. All 6 of the siblings were brought to the social welfare office. There is not much information known about their relatives. Name: Fungai Gomba Sex: Female Age: 3 years Fungai was adopted by the social welfare when was 3 months old. Her mother was involved in child prostitution when she gave birth to Fungai; as a result she too young to take care of the baby. Her mother’s parents disowned her and Fungai’s mother later died due to cervical cancer. Name: Tsitsi Chiwero Sex: Female Age: 6 years Both of Tsitsi's parents and her other two younger siblings died of HIV/AIDS. She was left in the custody of her uncle, but it is alleged that she was suffering physical abuse from her uncle and his family. They even stopped her from going to school claiming that they could not afford to take her to school. Name: Ruvimbo Magocha Sex: Female Age: 4 years Ruvimbo was born out of wedlock and she never got to know or meet her father. Her mother who has been known for prostitution activities, abandoned her with her grandmother in the rural areas of Mutoko. Unfortunately, her grandmother passed away and there was no one to take care of her. Her mother never came back for her or attended her mother’s funeral. No one knows her mother’s whereabouts. She was taken into the custody of the social welfare.
