Tornadoes Slam Several States

Forecasters say roughly the same area hit Sunday night could get slammed by tornadoes again today. The areas include parts of Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri and Oklahoma. Tornadoes ravaged portions of central Oklahoma yesterday, killing two men from Shawnee.

Iraqi Death Toll Climbs to 70

Iraqi officials say a car bomb in another Shiite neighborhood in Baghdad has killed 13 people. The blast pushed the day's death toll from a deadly wave of bombings and shooting attacks across Iraq to 70.

Local Pastor Completes Fast Against Violence

Reverend Bill McGill of Fort Wayne’s Imani Baptist Church has completed his 40-Day Fast against Violence. McGill received national attention during his fast. He said he made the sacrifice to call attention to the rash of violence in Fort Wayne, and called on everyone to make a daily sacrifice for what they believe.

Do Not Call Deadline Tuesday

Tuesday is the next deadline to sign up for Indiana's Do Not Call registry. Since January, the state attorney general's office says it's received more than 5,000 complaints about telemarketing calls. Click It or Ticket Campaign Underway

Indiana law enforcement agencies have begun a two-week effort to enforce seat belt use on the state's highways. More than 250 agencies in the state begin conducting special patrols today to identify and ticket unrestrained motorists. The effort runs through June 2nd.

Gas Prices Up Nationwide

The latest Lundberg Survey puts the average price of a gallon of regular at $3.66, up 11 cents over the past two weeks. Of the cities surveyed in the lower 48 states, Tucson, Ariz., has the nation's lowest average price for gas at $3.18. Minneapolis has the highest at $4.27. Fort Wayne area prices average $3.87.
