In a day when many Americans have a negative opinion about Christianity, it’s encouraging to hear about churches and Christian organizations that are making a difference.
One such organization is The Billy Graham Associations Rapid Response Team? They bring spiritual comfort and practical help to victims of disasters. Their chaplains were in Colorado last week, helping victims of the wildfires,
Rapid Response Team Director Jack Munday says they help with a variety of situations from lost homes and lost pets, to assisting the elderly.
Munday asks for prayer for the chaplains and for the fire victims, who are going through perhaps the most traumatic time of their life.
Ron Hutchcraft is an evangelist and youth ministry veteran who has an ongoing ministry to Native Americans called On Eagle’s Wings.
He points to their tragic history that began with annihilation, moved to assimilation and now to self-destruction.
Ron says most mental health workers have left their jobs on reservations because of the alarming rate of suicide there.
On Eagle’s Wings wants to impact this generation of Native American youth with the hope of Jesus. This summer they will be taking the gospel message to 10 reservations across North America.
