Hand Up for the Holidays Partner with WBCL and Hand in Hand Comprehensive Therapy Specialists to give Jenn a hand up for the Holidays! A survivor of horrific physical abuse, Jenn found herself starting over at the age of 37. With nothing to her name when she graduated Charis House three years ago, she's begun to rebuild her life and now has a home she calls her own, but still struggles to make ends meet working 60+ hours a week as a server. To give Jenn a hand-up, we've registered her for needed household items at Walmart. We also registered her for some Christmas gifts for her two kids who are 13 & 19 in hopes to give them a special lift this holiday. You can purchase these items off her registry and send them to us at WBCL (address is included on the registry) or drop them off at our studio. Our Sponsor, Hand in Hand Comprehensive Therapy Specialists is also donating 6+ months of family counseling and $1,000 toward her rent. If you go to a Walmart store you can also look up the list. First Name: WBCL Last Name: Radio List name: Hand Up for the Holidays Jenn's Story Jenn has overcame many obstacles. As a child of every kind of abuse, Jenn grew up believing she was worthless. With abuse being all she knew, she jumped from one toxic relationship to the next. She didn't cope by using drugs or alcohol. Instead, she coped by jumping into relationships. She believed abuse was what she deserved. Until she ended up in a coma from being beaten with a baseball bat. Jenn now experiences permanent physical damage, including permanent nerve damage and ongoing migraines. Not long after her physical recovery from the coma, she and her two children found themselves homeless with no food or money. They turned to the Charis House and Jenn completed their rehabilitation program. After over two years with her family at the Charis House, Jenn found a full time serving job and got approved for government housing. She's kept that job for three years now. Jenn works nearly 60 hours a week as a server in a local restaurant and still struggles to make ends meet. She found a house with a rent to own option, and continues to better her life each day. After years of being torn down, Jenn deserves a Hand Up this holiday. Won't you join us to show Jenn the love and light of Christ this holiday season?
