The Contest Winning Mother is:
Twila Helvie
Twila's daughter, Julie Beck, submitted the story below about her mother.
"When I was in the first grade, I received a stationary set as a Christmas present. So, I asked my mother to write me a letter on it. She wrote me a special note telling me how she loved me with a reminder to always stick by my Christian values as I grew up. Throughout my life when times of trial would arise and I would questioned what to do that message of that note would always seem to come to mind. It then helped me to make the right choice no matter how hard it seemed at the time. I still cherish to this day 28 years later that scalloped edged note with the backwards 6 (reminding me of my age when she wrote me my special letter) in my Bible. My mother has no idea how those simple words of love have helped me to grow in my walk with the Lord throughout the years. Now that I am a mother, I plan to write my daughter a similar letter. I pray that it will encourage her as my letter has encourage me as she grows up to be the young lady the Lord wants her to be."~ Julie
